Prasidh Krishna will miss India’s five-match ODI series against New Zealand. The fast bowler could not secure fitness clearance while recovering from a hamstring injury.
The absence was reported before the series began on 4 November. Krishna was part of India’s initial squad but his place depended on fitness clearance.
Why Prasidh Krishna Is Out
Krishna suffered the hamstring injury during India’s tour of England. The ICC said he needs more time to build the bowling workload needed for competitive cricket.
His absence covers the full series rather than one match. India must play the ODI series without the right-arm pacer.
No return date was given in the official update. There is also no supported timetable for his return to matches.
What The Published India Squads Show
The official update listed different groups for the five ODIs. The published squad listed Nitish Kumar Reddy for the first ODI only.
The update said he would join India A after that match.
The published ODI groups include Arshdeep Singh and Anshul Kamboj. They also include Gurnoor Brar, Yash Thakur and Auqib Nabi among the pace options. The list does not describe any new player as Krishna’s replacement.
India’s first ODI group listed Shubman Gill as captain. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are also listed. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are listed for the opening matches.
What Happens Next For India
The ODI series began in Auckland on 4 November. The second match is set for Wellington on 7 November.
India must now manage its bowling options without Krishna. The second-ODI playing XI will be known when the team sheet is released.

The confirmed news is simple. Krishna is out of the full ODI series because he did not receive fitness clearance. His next return date and any future squad change remain unknown.
