The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is Pakistan’s men’s franchise Twenty20 competition. It began in 2016 with five teams, and the first final ended with Islamabad United beating Quetta Gladiators. Through the latest verified completed edition, PSL 2026, 11 editions have been completed.
Team changes and franchise history
The first two editions used five teams. The original Multan Sultans joined in 2018, taking the league to six. The 2026 expansion added Hyderabad Kingsmen and Sialkot Stallionz. Before that season began, Sialkot was renamed Multan Sultans. Separately, the original Multan franchise was purchased and moved to Rawalpindi as Rawalpindiz.
The 2026 field had eight teams: Hyderabad Kingsmen, Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators and Rawalpindiz. The original Multan team won in 2021, and that title belongs to the original franchise lineage now based in Rawalpindi. The new 2026 Multan Sultans is a separate franchise and does not inherit that championship. The annual table keeps the historical name used in each final.
