Early cricket and Delhi pathway
Prince began with tennis-ball cricket in the fields near his village outside Delhi. He did not start with a leather ball until he was 17. That background shaped his bowling: repeated tennis-ball matches taught him to hit the pitch hard and developed a fast arm action.
He joined a cricket academy and reached Delhi’s Under-19 set-up within a year. He played the Cooch Behar Trophy in 2018-19 and the Vinoo Mankad Trophy in 2019-20. In the latter competition, he took 10 wickets in eight innings for Delhi’s Under-19 side.
He worked his way back through Delhi league cricket and became a net bowler for LSG in 2023. His first-class debut for Delhi came in the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy, although rain and a curtailed match meant he did not bowl in that first appearance.
Domestic breakthrough and IPL journey
The 2024 Delhi Premier League gave Prince a major platform. Playing for Purani Dilli 6, he took 13 wickets in 10 matches. He then led Delhi’s wicket-taking in both the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy, taking 11 wickets in each competition.
Lucknow Super Giants bought him for his base price of ₹30 lakh at the 2025 IPL auction. He made his IPL debut against Delhi Capitals on 24 March 2025. His first season brought three wickets in six matches. A standout moment came against Sunrisers Hyderabad, when his yorker bowled Travis Head.
LSG retained him after that season. In IPL 2026, Prince played 14 matches and took 16 wickets, finishing as the franchise’s leading wicket-taker for the season. His best figures were 3/32 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, according to the LSG player profile. The official profile lists his IPL total at 20 matches and 19 wickets across the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
India debut and latest status
Prince received India’s ODI cap on 17 June 2026 against Afghanistan in Lucknow. He made his T20I debut against Ireland on 28 June 2026. The BCCI later named him in India’s updated ODI and T20I squads in July 2026, replacing injured players in the respective squads.
As of 15 October 2026, the latest available player records list him with India and LSG. His latest recorded T20I was against West Indies on 14 October 2026. His current role remains that of a fast bowler rather than an all-rounder or specialist batter.

Playing style: pace, hard lengths and yorkers
Prince is a right-arm fast bowler who attacks the stumps and can operate with the new ball or at the death. His style combines hard-length bowling with a willingness to finish an over with a yorker. The pace and bounce come from driving the ball into the surface rather than relying only on swing.
The tennis-ball years are part of that explanation. Prince has described how the light ball encouraged him to hit the pitch hard, which helped build arm speed and bounce. Moving to the leather ball required him to learn swing, seam and length control, but the original strength of his game remained his direct, aggressive yorker.
That method was visible in his first IPL season: all three of his wickets came from yorkers, including the dismissal of Travis Head. His 2026 IPL improvement showed a broader role, with more opportunities and a stronger season return for LSG.
