Team history
UP Warriorz were among the five franchises in the Women's Premier League's inaugural 2023 season. They reached the playoffs at the first attempt, where Mumbai Indians beat them in the Eliminator. That early run remains a meaningful part of the team's WPL history even though it did not produce a title. Source
The 2026 campaign included a league-stage victory over defending champions Mumbai Indians, but UP were beaten by Delhi Capitals in their final league match. The official final report names Bengaluru as the 2026 champion, so UP still had no WPL trophy till 2026. Source
Ahead of the 2027 auction, the league published 11 UP Warriorz retained players. Those names form a confirmed pre-auction core, not a full 2027 squad. The same official release says the club has seven slots to fill, making any additional names conditional on later announcements. Source
Players and squad status
Official WPL retention deadline: 28 September 2026. Players shown under retained and released come from the league's dated announcement and its player-list PDFs. Remaining auction places mean these retained names are not the final 2027 squad. Do not treat the 2026 reference list as a current 2027 roster.
