The Mumbai Indians have announced that Paras Mhambrey will return as their bowling coach for IPL 2025. Mhambrey, who was part of the coaching staff of 2024 T20 World Cup winning Indian Cricket team will now work alongside Lasith Malinga, who is the current coach of the Gold and Blue. Paras is known for his valuable experience and coaching skills.
Not only India, Mhambrey has a rich history in cricket, having been part of Mumbai Indians in several title wins with them. As a former player, he took part in two Tests and three ODIs for India in the late 1990s. He made his International debut for India in their tour to England in 1966.
After a successful 10 years under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, Mumbai Indians decided to make changes in their leadership role by switching captaincy from Rohit to Hardik Pandya in IPL 2024, which was the most talked about topic last year. This decision of Mumbai towards a long term thinking backfired them as they finished last in the IPL 2024 season with only four wins.
The Mumbai Indians are hoping Mhambrey’s return will help improve their performance after a disappointing IPL 2024 season. His role will include guiding the team’s young bowlers as they prepare for the upcoming season.
